Our Journey

In late 2020, Luke discovered that hauling his family’s boats in for winterization took just as much time as doing it himself. By 2023, he figured he couldn’t be alone in feeling that pull-in hassle. That’s when the idea for mobile winterization was born. He placed yard signs around the lakes area and winterized 20 boats that season, solid proof that the concept could work. By summer 2024, he and his wife Kayley officially launched Effort Jets LLC, turning a simple DIY solution into a full-service mobile winterization business. What started with 20 boats in 2023 exploded to over 70 in 2024, including almost every brand and we’re just getting started!

Our Name

• Effort embodies our belief that leaving a positive mark on the world requires consistent, intentional effort in everything we do.

• Jets celebrates our love for jet boats—the “4×4 of the water”—and the spirit of adventure they inspire.

In August 2023, Luke and Kayley drove to Lewiston, Idaho, to buy their first jet boat. That trip ignited a spark: Luke built the world’s first micro-jet boat to break 100 horsepower. He also reinforced the hull of their 21′ jet boat with hardened steel to protect against boulders in northern Manitoba rivers.
